Sarah Hardin Interior Design after the Houzz Article

Love for Interior Design

I have always loved design.  I have a minor in art and have long been a lover of design.  I was requesting room makeovers at a young age, and I designed my own dollhouse with the help of my wonderful grandparents many moons ago.  That dollhouse has been moved and stored multiple times still waiting for an excuse to put it back together.  Instead of decorating my old dollhouse for the next generation, I have begun decorating for other people!

6 Years of Sarah Hardin Design

Our historic home made quite a splash in our small town.  The next thing I knew, people were asking me to help them with their homes.  I jumped right in feet first, the paint was barely dry when I began working with a family doing a huge remodel and addition in our area.  I also was hired to decorate a guest room, office and living room for another client.  Sarah Hardin Design was off and running with two clients and I have not slowed down since.

Fast forward a few years and much to the amazement of everyone around us, we sold our historic home and moved to acreage outside of town.  My husband likes to call it a ranch.  Maybe a ranchita is fair. We have slowly worked on this house and while it has not become our dream home yet like the other project, our new home has potential, and we have a farm! Or at least we have a farm by Houston standards.  Donkeys + chickens + a vegetable garden = farm, right?  Or was it a ranch?

From the Pan Handle to South Texas and Beyond

From our ranch/farm/new home, I run my little design business.  It has all been word of mouth and I have been truly humbled and blessed by the amazing people who keep trusting me to help them with their projects.  You just never know where God is going to take you.  So far, he’s taken me all over the Hill Country and San Antonio.  But he has also taken me from the Panhandle to South Texas to decorate ranches and from Rosemary Beach to Port Aransas to decorate beach houses.  I have helped with the buildout and decorating of two banks and a small office building from top to bottom.  I have learned so much and every project is so much fun.  I have made great friends in the industry and clients have become great friends too!  I truly adore my clients and feel so lucky that I get to share my love of design with them and help each client articulate their own unique style filtered through me.

Having a Ball with Interior Design

What started out as building what I thought would be my forever home, turned out to be just writing our family’s next chapter and launching my new career.  Like they say, we make plans and God laughs.  I laugh every day!  Like my Instagram says, I am having a ball!
